Gearbox Unveils Battleborn For Xbox One, PS4 and PC

Software is spreading its wings beyond Borderlands, Brothers in Arms and
the like with a brand-new IP called Battleborn, coming to Xbox One, PS4
and PC, with Borderlands partner 2K Games on publishing duties once
more. It's another first-person title, but this one's a MOBA-style
intergalactic arena battler.
Featuring an immortal samurai, minigun-wielding hulk, elven huntress,
space marine, and other heroes, Battleborn sees you fighting for the
last star in the cosmos. So far, one competitive multiplayer mode has
been announced for Battleborn: a 5v5 game-type called Incursion.
Combining fast-paced first-person combat with the strategy of titles
like Dota 2 and League of Legends, you'll begin each match on a level
playing field before journeying along a skill tree to level 20, with
customisable abilities to unlock.
These abilities will carry over into Battleborn's five-player co-op
campaign, which Gearbox is remaining tight-lipped about. The idea is to
pit a whole range of action game archetypes against one another on the
battlefield, and there'll be more on the game in due course. Expect
rival factions, Gearbox's trademark humour and more. There's more info
in Game Informer's latest issue hitting news stands soon.
The future is here. Death to single player. The world is too big to play alone, nerds.
